Renaissance Festival 1st of July - 31st of August

The Renaissance Festival is organised in the town of Rethymno, it is celebrated every year from the end of July to the first ten days of August, there are a number of exhibitions, theatre plays, dance performances, street plays, painting exhibitions, that are held.

The Paleohora Music Festival is an annual event held during the first ten days of August, it is held in Paleochora, which is 76 kilometres from Chania. A number of concerts, musical performances and singing competitions.

Palaiochora Summer Festival 1st of August - 30th of September

Palaiochora Summer Festival is celebrated from August to September in Palaiochora, situated on the south western shore of Crete, during the festival there are a number of dance performances, classical music recitals, puppet shows and theatre.

Chestnut Festival of Elos 15th of August

The Chestnut Festival of Elos is held around the 15th of August each year and is celebrated in Ennio Khoria, the nine districts around Kissamos in Crete. The day is celebrated with a lot of chestnuts and delicious traditional sweets, there is also some plays and events held by the local people.
